The broad catogary of visual exprewssion that is based on the attempt to document reality that is expressed in video and/or digital productions that can be either direct to video or made for a television series. Documentaries have a wide range of topics and some of the most recent ones have been about abortion, war, capital punishment, comics, and the cospiracy of the 9/11 attacks about it either being done by our own government or planned out by people in a cave.
*Film documentaries express the reality of life with no need experienced actors needed, in most cases, but just a camera and the courage to film the unwanting truth and expect the unexpected
History
Documentaries were first defined back in 1926 in a review of Robert Flahertie's review of the film Moana earliest motion pictures were labeled as documentary films because single shot moments of trains entering a station, a boat docking, or a group of people leaving a factory.
1920
*Romanticism is implanted into films to stress the emotions of the character.
*City of Symphony, films that tend to feature people as products of their environment, is also used.
*Keno Pravda, originated in Russia, was the form of showing the truth through a camera lens.
*Newsreel was also put to play and that was the form of reenacting a battle scene.
1950-1970
*Cinéma-vérité was known as direct cinema that meant was a documentary on the scenes of the event unfolding and that was possible by the invention of more portable cameras and sound converters.
*In the 1960 and 1970's, a documentary was the main political weapon at this time against neocolonialism and capitalism in general, especially in Latin America.
